Hip pain
Hip pain can sit at the front of the hip, deep in the buttock or down the outside of the thigh. Where it sits tells us a lot about where it is coming from.
It often builds with load: more running, more stairs, a new job on your feet, or long hours sitting that leave the hip stiff.

What We Look For
We look at the hip, the low back and the knee together, because pain around the hip can start in any of them.
We check range, strength through the glutes and how the hip handles the load your week puts through it.

How We Help
- Pain
- Settling the hip so walking and sleeping on that side get easier.
- Range
- More movement through the hip and pelvis.
- Strength
- Rebuilding through the glutes and the muscles around the hip.
- Load
- Matching what you do to what the hip can handle right now.
Our Approach
1
Assessment
History, a physical examination and a look at what your week asks of the hip.
2
Muscular techniques
Hands-on work through the muscles around the hip and pelvis to settle the area.
3
Rehabilitation
Graded strength work through the hip, matched to what you want to get back to.
How the plan usually runs
The first three to four visits are about reducing the pain and getting you moving again. From there we slowly move into strengthening, with the plan worked backwards from what you want to get back to.
