Frequently Asked Questions

Billing

How much does an appointment cost?

We believe our prices reflect the value we bring you in our consults. A first visit is $115 with a standard practitioner, $125 with a senior practitioner and $135 with a principal practitioner at our Melbourne studios, and $110, $120 and $130 at Drouin, Moe, Traralgon and Caboolture.

Every fee, including follow-up and extended sessions, is on our fees page. To see the exact price for the person you want to see, click through to the booking portal and your individual practitioner.

If you'd like to talk to us about fees and funding, give your studio a call.

Do you offer HICAPS on the spot claiming of health rebates?

Yes. We offer HICAPS on the spot claiming and EFTPOS at every studio. HICAPS supports most health insurance funds. For the full list, see hicaps.com.au.

To claim on the spot, present your health insurance card when you pay. Otherwise we can issue an invoice so you can claim it yourself through your private health fund.

Sessions

What do sessions look like at The Spinal Studio?

We want to help you get out of pain and give you the tools to keep it from coming back. After a thorough assessment, your practitioner will give you a diagnosis and a plan for your condition, so you and your practitioner are on the same page heading towards a full recovery.

We will often spend the first three to four visits reducing your pain and getting you moving again, with a combination of soft tissue work, mobilisations and gentle movement. Then we slowly move into strengthening.

After those initial sessions we generally progress you through a range of strengthening exercises, which can take anywhere between three and twelve weeks, depending on your movement goals and what you would like to get back to.

How many sessions will I need?

We base every plan on the best evidence about your condition.

The number of sessions varies depending on how long you have had pain, how severe it is, how much it is affecting your life, and what we find in the assessment. We then build a plan around what you need to get to your goals.

Healthcare

Do I need a referral to come in?

No. Our practitioners are primary contact practitioners, so you can book an appointment with us without a referral from your GP.

Depending on your pain or condition, your practitioner may contact your GP or another appropriate health professional so you get the support you need for your recovery.

Do you accept Medicare (EPC) plans?

Yes, we accept Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) plans.

We do not bulk bill, so you will be required to pay the remaining balance. Medicare will cover $60.35 (subject to change) of the total appointment fee.

Do you accept WorkSafe, TAC and DVA claims?

Yes, we accept all WorkSafe, TAC and DVA claims. Please call to arrange your appointment.

Bring the paperwork to your first visit so there is no delay in getting you started.

Do you work with NDIS participants?

Yes. We are registered providers with the NDIS and can see self managed, plan managed and NDIA managed participants.

We work with a range of conditions, with tailored exercise to help you move and feel better and get to your health and fitness goals. Please call to arrange your NDIS appointment.
